Common questions

Will my parents know what I talk about in therapy?

Confidentiality is important and will be discussed clearly at the start. Session content will not be shared with parents without your agreement, except in situations involving safety. The goal is for therapy to be a space you can actually use.

My teen does not want to come to therapy. What should I do?

That is common. It can help to involve your teen in choosing a therapist and to frame therapy as their space, not a place where they will be reported on. Feel free to reach out to discuss how to approach this.

At what age can a teen start therapy?

Perfectly Mental works with teen girls ages 15 and up. If your daughter is younger than 15 and needs support, we are happy to provide referrals to therapists who specialize in younger children and adolescents.
