Who am I?
My name is Jillian Rausche, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I completed graduate school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, earning a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Throughout my graduate program, I maintained a 4.0 GPA leading to the honor of induction to my university’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, National Honor Society.
During my time in graduate school, I was one of two selected graduate research assistants to esteemed professor, scholar, and now colleague Dr. Jeong-Han Kim.
As a Graduate Research Assistant, I had the opportunity to co-author methodology sections for several articles researched, which included positive psychology studies on children with autism, cortisol levels, and peer versus parent-mediated interventions. This experience opened my eyes to my genuine love of research and the incredible need for relevant studies concerning those with autism.
As a neurodivergent individual, diagnosed with ADHD in my late teens, I am compassionate, sensitive, and able to empathize with adults, adolescents, and children with neurodevelopmental diagnoses.
I have come to discover the many strengths and positive aspects of having ADHD. I am passionate about advocating for awareness in this realm, especially among children who may otherwise go unnoticed or “slip through the cracks” without proper diagnosis and treatment. If you fall into this category and are struggling, please know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with you!
We are simply wired differently and that’s okay! Different does not = wrong :)
My approach to therapy
I have a passion for helping others and getting to know who you truly are down to the core. Through this combination, my therapy approach and practice may seem “different” and even fun at times! You will often feel like you’re sitting with a friend who laughs with you, cries with you, and wants nothing but the best for you.
Every therapy session is tailored to you and your specific needs and is an open and honest collaboration.
I use an integrative approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered, and Solution-Focused therapy. Neurodivergence affirming therapy is also utilized with neurodivergent clients. Treatment is individualized, collaborative, and focused on both understanding patterns and building skills that translate into real-life change.
I adapt what I use to what is actually helpful for you, not to a rigid protocol. Every person brings a different history and a different set of needs, and the approach should reflect that.
Why women and teen girls?
Women and girls face a specific set of pressures that are often minimized or misunderstood. Anxiety that looks like perfectionism. ADHD that was missed because it did not look the way clinicians expected. Burnout that is mistaken for laziness. Postpartum experiences that are dismissed as normal.
I work with women and teen girls because I understand these experiences, and I am committed to providing therapy that actually addresses them.
